Tag You’re It! Challenge: Fourth of July Patriotic Tag
Challenge #48 from Tag You’re It! was posted over the Memorial Day weekend and features a beautiful patriotic tag created by Bobby Hagan.
I’ve been looking around Pinterest lately for decorations and things to make for a 4th of July party. Of course, that’s a plethora of red, white, and blue goodies adorned with every type of star and stripe you can imagine – so I went for the obvious as the inspiration for my project.
The front piece of the tag is inked up with Distress Ink in Blueprint Sketch, and the stars embossed with white opaque embossing paste.
The heart “window” is a striped heart die from Simon Says Stamp. I cut it from the center of my blue tag first (so the red would show from underneath), then cut it again from white card and snipped off the white stripes to adhere them over the blue for contrast.
And finally, I die cut the sentiment and painted it with a Wink of Stella pen in black. Lastly, I centered it over the heart with a little tacky glue.
Thanks for stopping by today. Do you craft for the Fourth of July festivities? Leave a comment below and tell me what you make!
