Papertrey June Blog Hop Challenge
My card for the Papertrey June Blog Hop Challenge features the gorgeous berries from the Beautiful Berries: Summer stamp set. I think this is the first set I have ever purchased that was straight up berries – no flowers or anything with them. I love it so much!
The inspiration photo for this month’s challenge is from Anthropologie:
My inspiration for the card I made came from the dark colored vase. I used a Hero Arts Ombré ink pad and a Nuvo Brush to do a little ink blending in the center of my front panel. I rubbed the area over with an anti-static tool, lined up, then stamped my sentiment. Since Versafine is a pigment ink, it’s ideal for embossing. I sprinkled some clear embossing powder over the image and hit it with a heat tool to melt the powder.
Then, on a separate piece of white cardstock, I stamped the berries using a MISTI tool (SO much easier to align the layers!) and the same ombré ink pad I used for the background blending. To cut them out, I used the coordinating dies and ran the die cutting sammich through by Big Shot.
To put it all together, I tore the edges off the panel with the blended ink and adhered that to a white card blank with foam squares. Then I positioned the two berry bunches where I thought they looked good and stuck them in place with a few more foam squares. And to finish it off, a few flat and cupped sequins for good measure.
Oh! And a swipe of Nuvo Aqua Shimmer in Gloss Glitter across the leaves, too! Because glitter. 😉

Gorgeous card! Love the torn edge.
Thank you! I was a little iffy on tearing it at first (I usually die cut a stitched edge) but I think I may do more edges like this in the future 😀
Oh. LOVE this card!! Beautiful!!
