Merry Little Christmas November 2019 Challenge
The Merry Little Christmas November 2019 Challenge is live over on the challenge blog, and the theme is “Anything Goes”! For my project today, I used a collab set between Paper Rose x SSS called Poinsettia Border.
It was from this year’s Stamptember release at Simon Says Stamp. Sadly, it sold out shortly after I made this card. But, with a little bit of fancy masking work and fussy cutting, you can use any poinsettia set you already have to get a similar look!
The white cardstock I’m using today is Cougar Super Smooth from Cutcardstock.com. It’s great for coloring with Copics and allows the ink to blend nicely.
Copic Sketch List
The marker colors I used are:
- Poinsettias: R20, R22, R29, YR31, Nuvo Aqua Shimmer in Midas Touch
- Mistletoe Leaves: G43, G46
- Mistletoe Berries: YR30
- Shadow: C1
The sentiment is from the same stamp set. Because the yellow cardstock was textured, I used Hero Hues ink in Onyx and heat embossed with Ranger Detail Powder in Black. That way, I could make sure the image was super black and covered correctly.
After I die cut the edge of the poinsettias, I adhered the white cardstock with foam squares over the Basis Black and Bazzill Pollen layers below. The white space above the poinsettias looked a little plain, so I did a dot design with some Nuvo Crystal Drops in Mustard Gold.
It was a bonus that the Nuvo Drops, poinsettia centers, and yellow cardstock almost matched perfectly. Gorgeous, I tell ya.
Thanks for popping by to see my card for the Merry Little Christmas November 2019 Challenge! Now it’s your turn: head on back to the challenge and add your link! I’d love to see what you make 🙂
I also entered this card in the Wednesday challenge at Simon Says Stamp 😀
PS – Here’s another MLCC Challenge entry from earlier this year that I think you’ll like!
