Heat Embossing on Colored Cardstock

Hey there! I was so busy catching up on things, that I totally forgot about the PTI Blog Hop last month. The inspiration photo was a great one, too. The first thing I thought of was heat embossing on colored cardstock and decided I’d make a card inspired by it anyway. Sadly, I didn’t have anything that remotely resembled aquatic life in my stash, haha!

I may not have fishes to stamp, but I do have flowers. The Garden Party stamp set from Papertrey Ink has lots of different sized images and flower builders, so I thought that would be a nice one to use to make this project.

It didn’t take long to put this together, as it’s mainly stamping. I stamped each color separately with Versafine CLAIR and embossed them as I went. For the dye ink (Hero Arts Shadow Ink in Stone Wash), I stamped it twice using a MISTI, and then a third time with Versamark, so I could emboss it as well.

To add the dots to the design, I used Pen White with an embossing stylus, and some Nuvo Crystal Drops in Wedgewood Blue.

While everything dried, I made a card base out of some Neenah Solar White. After I stamped the sentiment, I attached the card front to the base with glue tape.
