Afternoon Tea Treat Bags for a Summer Party
Aren’t summer weekends fabulous? There’s nothing like a lazy Sunday afternoon… except maybe a lazy Sunday afternoon that includes a tea party!
I made these cute little tea treat bags as favors for an afternoon summer tea this past weekend. It was full of bright colors and sunshine, and of course good food and friends, so I thought a take-home treat with be just the thing for a send-off.
I knew I wanted something glittery for my treat bag, and I didn’t have any ready-made ones on hand. I did, however, have a gift bag punch board (We R Memory Keepers) and a few sheets of Mirrisparkle cardstock in Gold.
All it took was to follow the instructions on the punch board and adhere the edges with a strong craft tape, like Scor-Tape. Once I filled them with honey drops, tea packets, and a wrapped sugar cookie, I threaded a ribbon through the holes along the top and tied the bags shut.
To decorate, I cut a straight scribble (Scribbles and Splats Die, Tim Holtz) out of Poptones in Blue Raspberry and a roughly two-inch stitched circle (Honey Bee Stamps) from Poptones in Sweet Tooth.
I’m not a big patterned paper fan, But I found this super cute teacup pattern in my stash, and it was perfect as a background for my sentiment.
I used Versafine CLAIR in Glamorous to stamp my sentiment image (Papertrey Ink), then layered the patterned paper and scribble die cut on the front of my treat bag with a couple of pieces of Scor-tape.
To give the design a little dimension, I layered on the sentiment circle with foam squares.
Thanks so much for taking a look at my tea treat bags today! Don’t forget to pin this idea to your summer party board on Pinterest!
